My car: The story so far...

Today i had my new alloys put onto my car. They were originally from a 220 Rover Tomcat. Ive had them polished up and put on my ride. Below you can see them in all there gleaming glory. Also ive updated all the recent pictures of my car to see how it s developing. Ill keep you updated with new pictures. please send in pictures of your motor so it can be posted onto the site. The email address is dan_spragg@hotmail.com.

All of my windows have been tinted out using Limo Black tint. The tint is a film one which has been heat bonded to the window. I had to leave the windows up for a while sos not to disrupt the tint.

Im intending on getting a body kit. The main body of the body kit will be made from simple building insulation. Once i havve the mould and shape i want i will then coat the body kit with a hard fibre glass shell. Eventually i will have a full body kit. Front bumber, side bumber and side skirts.

The front of the car is very wide. This is ideal for a new bumber idea. The exsisting fog light areas will be split into two. one for a small inset light and amother for an air vent which will lead into my engine.

These are the new alloys that are on my motor. They are from a Rover 220 Tomcat limited edition. To view the exact car these rims came from, visit www.cruiserims.co.uk. They were also polished by this company.

My Car: The Story so far...

Im currently driving a Honda Civic 1.5 LSi. Its in White and in very good nick. Ive installed a HKS induction kit and tinted all of the windows except the windscreen. Ive also put a large white sun screen onto the windscreen with an Alpine decal over the top. The sunscreen is on the inside and the decal on the outside, this gives the decal a 3D impression. The first attempt at tinting went very well apart from the front two windows. They are very prone to air bubbles and creases. Today I took back to have them re-done and we had to remove the entire tint and start again. Using a heat gun is the only way to get the air and moisture bubbles out of the tint. The tint has a grain in it and the heat gun spreads the moisture through the grain making it very easy to push out with a credit card or small squegee. Now the tint has been applied to my car I have to keep the windows up for at least 2 days whilst the tint bonds properly onto the window. If you move the window before the tint has set it will peel the tint off and you will have to start again. If you have had any bad experiences with tinting let me know and send in a picture to be posted onto the blog. Send it to dan_spragg@hotmail.com

Window Tinting

Many different coloured tints can be applied. They can also be applied in two different ways. The film is the most commonly used but you can also have the tint sprayed on which is a much better effect but more expensive.

New Back Mini Cooper. Limo Black tint all round.

Subaru Impreza dark blue tint.

Toyota Supra. All around tint. Limo black with a custom hand painted decal.

Old Style vauxhall corsa rear windows tinted with
green tint.

These cars were tinted at the Cruise Rims workshop in Stroud, Gloucestershire. For information on how to get your windows tinted, contact Cruise Rims at www.cruiserims.co.uk. If you would like to share some of your tint jobs, then send them in for viewing at dan_spragg@hotmail.com

The window tint can come in so many different colours to match your car.Send me a picture or leave a comment on the blog telling me about your tint and if you have had any unusual tints done or and graphics made of tint put onto your window. Also let me know if there are any problems with the tinting process and send me pictures of your dillemas.
